What is your opinion on Fact Check and Tax Policy Center?s analysis of Obama's business tax plan ?
"McCain has repeatedly claimed that Obama would raise tax rates for 23 million small-business owners. It's a false and preposterously inflated figure. The actual number of business owners who would be affected turns out to be well under a million, and the number of employers would be even less. Based on the number of taxpayers who now report any sort of business income on their returns, the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center projects that 663,608 taxpayers with business income, or business losses, will fall into the top two tax brackets in 2009, when any Obama tax changes would first take effect. Not all of those can properly be called "small-business owners," however. Some are farmers. Many are lawyers, accountants or other professionals who get some of their income in the form of partnership distributions. Others may be passive investors in real-estate partnerships or similar investment arrangements and not really persons who own and manage a business. ...The vast majority of those that McCain is counting as small-business owners have no employees and wouldn't encounter any added costs for covering workers." http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/mccains_small-business_bunk.html http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/UploadedPDF/411749_updated_candidates.pdf Libsticker: Assumption #1 is not addressed by the TPC analysis, but your assumption #2 is. You should read the thing in its entirety before making judgment. NEITHER candidate will be able to accomplish their proposals without raising taxes.

Obama's business tax plan -- who will really pay?
Also do people really believe that corporate taxes don't all get passed on to consumers? What good will his middle class tax cut do when we have to pay more for everything because the other, hidden taxes will get passed on? Do the Dems really believe that the corporate taxes won't get passed on to the poorest of consumers or are they just so desperate for power that they are playing to the economically clueless among us? Actually, Walter, anything the person over $250K does with his money benifits others. If he buys a gold toilet it will pay for people to work the mines, haul materials, refine, cast, deliver, install, etc. Or the gov't can take that money away from the rich guy, keep most of it to feed the gov't, and give a little of it to people who do nothing but who will then compete with us to buy goods and services that fewer people are are able to offer/produce. Oops. there are two Walters, my comment is obviously for Walter D. Walter Skinner knows his stuff.

Does the tax increase on Obama's Small Business Tax Plan kick in after $250k Profit or Revenue? ?
Lots of small businesses bring in over $250k a year in revenue, but most don't make over $250k in profit. This is a major semantic that anyone debating with a small business owner needs to know, I think. So if I'm getting this right: Joe the Plummer makes $280k PROFIT that would be something like: $250k * .35 + $30k * .39 so the EXTRA tax is 4% on $30k of pure profit... Thats $1200. That is fair
