Teenagers are now starting to look for a summer job. One job you could do is start your own lawn mowing business.

Here are 5 easy steps that will help a teenager start a lawn mowing business.

1. Having good tools is a must. Your lawn mower should be oiled and ready to go. You need enough gas to do a whole yard.

Always have an extra gas can filled with gas. Trimmers you should have also to trim, edge the yard. Make sure they are sharpened and wd40 this will make your job easy with good sharp tools.

2. Advertise by going door to door. To get your name out there for your teenage mowing business you need to go door to door.

You can print up business cards on your home computer. If you do not have a computer you can make up fliers. Make sure that you keep your jobs in walking distance.

3. Do not commit to lawns you can not do. The summer is always very hot. When getting a job make sure you can start and finish a yard.

Do not take a job you can not handle. It will take you about 30 minutes a yard.

Of course if you do extra work like picking up animal feces, weeding then give your self more time and charge extra for doing these jobs.

4. Have contact information and a pay sheet. You could possibly get to 10 yards in a day.

Teenagers usually charge $20-$25 per lawn. When getting the job you need to leave information with the home owner like: Contact information about you with your cell number always have cell phone with you.

If you have a pay sheet that will make you as a teenager look professional and that you are taking this lawn mowing business serious.

5. Charge extra for animal feces, weeding flower beds. You need to charge extra for these services because it will take you extra time to do the pulling of the weeds, and picking up the dog feces.

When picking up after dogs make sure you have a pooper scooper and a trash can with you.

6. Offer a free trim to potential customers. When trying to get the job give the customer a free trim so they can see what a great job you can do for them. It will make you look like you are taking your lawn mowing business serious.

These 5 steps will get you started in your teenage lawn mowing business. Just follow these steps and you will be off and running in your own business.
